Our Mission Statement

The Micron Bioimaging Facility's core mission is to enable access to state-of-the-art optical microscopy systems for routine and advanced (sub)cellular imaging to national and international researchers.


We endeavour to provide a first-class education to students and professionals and deliver excellence in bioimaging helping scientists push the frontiers of human understanding of the inner workings of cells and tissues.

Our Aims

Provide expert guidance for experimental design, sample preparation, instrument selection and quantitative image analysis. 


Deliver excellence in the teaching and training of the next generation of  scientists.


Maintain instruments in the best possible condition following rigorous quality control (QC) protocols. 


Deliver professional and friendly service to ensure maximum user and staff satisfaction.


Improve recognition and reward for imaging scientists working on collaborative projects.
