In Micron we have an OME database, for analysis, cataloguing and longterm storage of images. OMERO is a consortium of universities, research labs, industry and developers producing open-source software and format standards for microscopy data. Further information about use of the database and details of how to get an account see the wikipage, or contact the facility managers, Andrew or Nadia.

How do I learn to use Omero?

If you would like to start using Omero please contact Andrew or Nadia and they will be happy to help you get started.

Is my data secure?

All data stored on our Omero is backed up regularly on servers and by tape-robot.

Can I share my data with collaborators?

With it's web-based interface it is extremely straightforward to share images and metadata within your research group and to allow access to collaborators (minimum requirement Biochemistry virtual visitor status).
